Meal Providers

Volunteers help us serve over 20,000 meals each year. You can volunteer as a meal provider (nightly dinner) or as a weekend lunch provider (lunch on Saturday or Sunday). We are also always ready to receive sack lunches during the week. Simply call or email us to tell us you will be bringing them so we can plan ahead.

Evening meal providers prepare or purchase enough food to feed 36 guests and then deliver it to the shelter between 5:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Dinner volunteers are encouraged to stay and serve our guests directly from 6:00 p.m. — 7:00 p.m. If your schedule doesn't permit staying to serve, that's okay! You're more than welcome to drop dinner off, and our staff and Evening Volunteers will take it from there. Our Meal Providers are some of our most critical supporters, and our guests are incredibly grateful to have a hot meal to end the day.

Dinner generally consists of an entrée, a side like chips or a salad, a fruit, and a dessert. Many guests prefer softer foods that are easier on the teeth, but there are no strict requirements for what you bring.

Guests do not eat lunch inside the building.
